Recipe: Summer Strawberry Salsa

Summer heat calls for a cool salsa that’s just as beautiful as it is tasty. You will love this easy-to-make Summer Strawberry Salsa that perfectly combines sweet fruit with some tanginess and a little kick.

Serve it as a dip with tortilla chips or pita chips. Or pair it with cinnamon sugar chips for a light dessert that kids and adults will enjoy. It’s also excellent served over grilled chicken or pork.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 1½ cups strawberries diced
  • ½ red onion (medium) diced
  • 1 jalapeño seeded and diced
  • ⅔ cup of cilantro stemmed and chopped
  • 1 lime juiced and zest
  • 1 ½ tablespoons agave syrup
  • ¼ tsp. sea salt
  • ¼ tsp. pepper
  • Tortilla or pita chips


Whisk together the lime juice, zest, agave, salt, and pepper in a large bowl. Next, stir in the strawberries, onion, jalapeño, and cilantro. Feel free to adjust the amount of jalapeño, seasonings, and agave to your taste.

Pour the salsa into an airtight container and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to marinate. This will bring out all the flavors and juiciness of the fruit. Serve with your favorite tortilla or pita chips.

Leftovers, if there are any, can be stored for up to three days in the refrigerator.
